Spacious, light and modern apartment with two bedrooms for up to four persons, in Amsterdam's beautiful and cultural district the Jordaan.

 

Combining a beautiful location with a spacious and bright interior, this apartment is an excellent choice for a pleasure, leisure, or business stay. It is wedged between two canals, and its direct surroundings are green and lovely.

 

The top level is flanked by large windows that extend along the side of the room, giving it huge amounts of daylight. This level is divided into a living area and a dining area by a subtle difference in floor level. The new open kitchen contains all appliances for modern cooking. The dining table is close to the kitchen, where you can enjoy a meal with four.
In the living room, find a chaise longue for extended reading or relaxing, and a large comfortable sofa and matching chairs to sit together and have a drink and talk about the day's activities. The backdrop of the wonderful view of the canal makes this an ideal sitting room.

 

The interior is tastefully designed: a wonderful light interior is combined with natural wood tones, and contrasts with the chic black furniture, which lends it a contemporary modern feel. The whole apartment has wooden floors, which are warm, and dust free and clean.

 

Go down the stairs to find the two bedrooms and bathroom. The design of the bedrooms is simple and quiet. Daylight comes in from outside, and through a glass pane in the living room floor. Both bedrooms are equipped with comfortable double box spring beds for maximal sleeping comfort. The bathroom is large and has a new shower, with a grand bathtub.

 

The Jordaan is a very beautiful and diverse neighbourhood. Originally working-class, the Jordaan has changed into a home for art galleries, specialty shops, and restaurants after a restoration starting in the 1970s. The influx of artists and young people creates a wonderful mix with the original inhabitants, resulting in a variety of styles and cultures. This also makes the trips to nearby markets at the Noordermarkt or at the Lindengracht well worthwhile.

 

The Jordaan has all the charm of old Amsterdam, and is strewn with little courtyards and traditional workers' houses. History is all around; the house where the famous painter Rembrandt spent his last years is close by, and he is buried in the magnificent Westerkerk, which is just a ten minute walk. Here you'll also find the Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank hid during World War II, and wrote her famous diary.

 

If you enjoy the creative arts, then make sure you visit the Westergasfabriek. This is the site of a redeveloped factory where many creative festivals and events are held in its historic buildings. Next to it is also a beautifully laid out park. It is a brisk 20 minute walk, but also easily reached by tram or bus which stops at 100 metres from the apartment (stop: Bloemgracht).  The centre of Amsterdam is a 10  minute ride by public transportation, where you'll find the central station, or the popular sites such as the Rembrandtplein, Leidseplein or Damrak.
