This apartment is named after the Oosterpark or Eastern Park The Oosterpark was the first park in Amsterdam which was designed in 1880 based on English landscape style. In the summer the large grass field is filled with locals who pick nick or play football. Around a large pond you can sit on benches and watch the ducks and other birds. Take some old bread with you and feed the birds. Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch writer and novelist wrote a critical play about the position of the women in the Islam. In 2004 he was stabbed to death by a Muslim extremist on a street near this park. This event shocked the people in The Netherlands. A sculpture called the Schreeuw or in English the Scream commemorates this murder.

Take tram number 9 and it will take you to the centre part of Amsterdam in 15 minutes. From here you can go by foot to many interesting places in the centre of Amsterdam. Close by is one of the most famous squares in Amsterdam, the Museumplein or the museum square. Several museums are located around this square. If you want to see the famous painting called the Night Watch of Rembrandt then the Rijksmuseum is a must.

The Red Light District is the most popular tourist attraction of Amsterdam. It is a safe place to walk because the pimps want to protect their business. It is an area with small cozy streets with many small bars and small take-away restaurants. These Chinese restaurants have delicious roasted duck called Peking duck. But the Ladies of the Night are the main attraction. They sit behind large windows and they will try to lure you inside with their seductive smiles and sweet words. When the curtains are closed and the red light is burning the lady has a client who fell for her charms.

I enjoyed a pleasant stay at this apartment in a nice location near Oosterpark. I would recommend it to anyone who is going to Amsterdam for a short break.

Modern design, nice place, good bar in the corner, mainly suitable for young people or for 2 persons, but it was ok, and the surprise wine was also a pleasant gesture.
