Near the Amstel Canal, green space and plenty of entertainment options, this cozy and contemporary 2-bedroom apartment offers up to 4 guests an alternative to Amsterdam’s crowded city center.
With the bustling streets of de Pijp right outside your door, this inviting 2-bedroom apartment lets you see Amsterdam from a local’s perspective. The bright living room features ample seating, large windows and a flatscreen TV to encourage relaxation. The nearby kitchen makes excellent use of space, but still holds a hob, a refrigerator, and a full-sized dining table to encourage shared meals and late-night conversations. Two cozy and quiet bedrooms offer privacy and comfort for four guests. One bedroom contains two single beds, and the other contains a double bed. The sleek and stylish bathroom, located down the hall, holds a full range of modern hygienic fixtures, including a built-in tiled shower. A variety of ages, backgrounds and ethnicities call the area home, making this one of the city’s most eclectic neighborhoods. There’s no better place to see a cross-section of Amsterdam than right here in de Pijp.
Originally constructed to house the overflow from the rapidly filling Jordaan neighborhood in the 19th century, de Pijp was designed to funnel smoothly into central Amsterdam. Transit connections make the trip to Dam Square and de Wallen easy and quick, and other attractions like the Amstel Canal and Museum Square are within walking distance.
The jury is out on whether de Pijp is up-and-coming or already “here,” but either way the neighborhood hosts an unparalleled variety of international restaurants and quirky, bohemian night spots that you won’t find anywhere else. Head to one of the more concentrated streets like Albert Cuypstraat, Ceintuurban or Van Woustraat and take your pick of exotic treats ranging from Middle Eastern to Surinamese.
On the opposite side of Sarphatipark (a pleasantly manicured green area that’s perfect for quiet reflection or afternoon picnicking) you’ll find the Albert Cuypmarkt, the city’s largest open-air market. As much a destination for sightseeing as it is for shopping, you can still find great bargains in this unique and vibrant interchange.
While de Pijp isn’t the most central neighborhood in Amsterdam, it certainly doesn’t need to be. There’s enough charm, character and entertainment here to keep you as busy as you’d like to be, without the overwhelming bustle of the city center. If you want to see why the locals love Amsterdam, book this fantastic de Pijp apartment today.
I stayed in Amsterdam apartments for one week. Excellent location, you have all that you need in two minutes walk by foot (supermarket, restraunts, coffee, coffeeshop). Also you can get to the city center in 30 minutes walk by foot just walking straight and then to the right. The most pleasant was the thing that when we arrived there were everything to start live in there: shampoo, shower gel, gel for washing dishes, etc. Thank you so much for our holiday!Natalya - Date: 15:45 14-07-2017 Source: AmsterdamApartments.com
